Westbound & Down opened their shared Denver taproom with Amalgam Brewing, The Cultural Center, on October 12, 2019 for this bottle release.
Metaberry is a barrel-aged golden sour blend that is re-fermented on 5lbs/gal of Oregon-grown red raspberries. Their goal was to push the boundaries of what fruited sours can be. So, they used their most select barrels of the golden sour combined with some of the best fruit they’ve had. They created the blend from first use Pinot Noir and Merlot barrels and then added the raspberries from Oregon’s Willamette Valley. The resulting blend is incredible; really outstanding result of their experimental projects and barrel-aging program.
